The high-tech company EMITE Ingeniería, which emerged from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in 2006, will invest 800,000 euros in the construction of its new headquarters in the Fuente Álamo Technology Park.
The Rector, Alejandro Díaz, today attended the laying of the first stone.
The building will occupy 2,500 square meters.
The new offices will be operational later this year.
The first phase, whose works will end after the summer, has 1,200 square meters built, distributed among the departments of Software, Support, R & D and Production mainly.
They are designed to increase the demand of 5G, according to L. Javier Martínez-Moya.
In the following phases, "we will expand the area of ​​laboratories and we will make a building of common uses, with gymnasium, area of ​​creativity and other spaces for the personnel", indicates Javier Martínez-Moya, financial director of EMITE.
In its new facilities, the company will accommodate 19 employees and will have capacity for 50 workers, foreseeing a possible expansion in the next 3 years.
Currently, EMITE has 11 graduates from the UPCT, including Telecommunications Engineers, Industrial Engineers and graduates in Business Administration and Management.
EMITE maintains a Chair of Business in the UPCT with which it has employees to two fellows.
The chair serves as support for the first 5G Test and Measurement in the Air (OTA) laboratory in Spain, which EMITE has installed in the Murcia Region.
The company created by Professor David Sánchez and in which he employs numerous former students of the UPCT was the first spin-off that was incorporated into the Network of Chairs of the UPCT.
The company has distribution partners in more than 25 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Korea, Japan, Australia, India and China, and demonstration laboratories in the United States, Holland, China, in addition to Fuente Álamo de Murcia.
