The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, inaugurated on Thursday, February 7, the new premises of the senior club of the Estación Sector, located on Calle Juan de la Cueva, opposite the Parish of San Pablo.
This place, whose leasing expenses are defrayed by the Department of Social Services by 99%, is more spacious and has greater luminosity than in the one that was previously.
The Senior Club of the Sector Station, has about 150 members, who are tenants of the premises.
In this center many activities are developed such as: gerontogimnasia, workshops of free time, memory training program, cultural week, cultural trips, dances, etc.
The Councilor for Social Services of the City of Cartagena, Mercedes García, has been very satisfied with the opening of the site.
"This is a claim they had been making for a long time."
According to the mayor of the Social Services Area, the social premises presented bad conditions due to its age.
"The neighbors have been fighting for a larger, central, very nice and bright place."
With these improvements made, users of the social area of ​​the Third Age of the Station Sector may have more comfort to carry out their activities.
