On Thursday, February 7, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, met with the president of the Federation of Senior Associations, María Beteta, and representatives of the 43 clubs of of the municipality, to inform them about the municipal activities that will be carried out.
The topics that have been discussed in this meeting have been: Cartagena as a friendly city for the elderly, the activity of San Valentín, the Carnival and the dance championship, among other topics.
DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE ELDERLY "DANCING?"
This activity is a novelty this year, where many clubs are participating and receiving dance classes.
The semifinal of the championship will be held on March 15, at 6 pm, at the Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, where 20 couples will be selected who will reach the final on May 10, which will take place in the same place , at 5:00 p.m.
Classes will be broadcast from next week on Tele Cartagena, and occasionally on Channel 7, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at noon and at night.
The entry of both acts will be free until full capacity is reached.
VALENTINE'S DAY
This activity, organized by the Federation of Senior Clubs, is on February 14, at the Finca Jurosa.
In this place, there will be a meal and then a dance with performance.
As every year, there will be a tribute to the older couple of the club that attends the party.
The price of the ticket is 22 euros.

FESTIVAL OF CARNIVAL OF SENIORS
On the occasion of Carnival, the elders of the municipality will participate on Friday, March 1, at the Carnival party 'La Dama de Oro'.
In addition to teaching attendees their choreography, the kings and queens of this festival will be known.
The activity is completely free and can be collected, from February 15, at the Miraculous.
DAY OF TRAINING OF BOARDS OF DIRECTORS
This activity, organized by the Department of Social Services in collaboration with the Federation of Elders, will be held on April 30 at the UNED, which will address various issues that may interest the attendees.
Admission is free.
COEXISTENCE OF CLUBS
This activity will take place on May 7, at the Caritas Camp of Los Urrutias, where attendees can participate in games, walks, workshops and dances.
In addition, you can taste a spectacular paella.
CARTAGENA: FRIENDLY CITY WITH THE ELDERLY
Another of the highlights of this meeting is the Cartagena project: friendly city with the elderly.
It consists of comprehensively addressing the aspects that affect the day to day of the cities and does so, promoting active aging, improving their environments and services and incorporating this perspective in municipal planning.
