The Councilor for Public Services, Juan Pedro Torralba, has held on Wednesday morning, February 6, a meeting with the four taxi associations in Cartagena in which they have reached an agreement to unlock the new municipal ordinance of the sector.
The discrepancies were based on the wording of four of the articles that make up the draft ordinance, specifically articles 8.3, 9.6, 16 and 19 and on which a consensus has been reached between the City Council and taxi professionals.
"We have reached consensus in the drafting of the ordinance and we will take the draft with all the rectifications and clarifications to the next Finance Committee.
Likewise, as soon as these modifications are incorporated into the draft, it will be sent to the rest of the municipal groups, since, once an agreement has been reached, it does not make sense to start a work commission, but the Government wants to fulfill the commitment it has acquired. with the municipal corporation, "the councilor indicated.
As for the articles that have been modified, the first of them, section 3 of article 8, regulates the provisional suspension of the service.
Point 6 of article 9 that establishes the revocation of licenses in case of non-compliance.
Likewise, the wording of article 16 has been modified incorporating a new section whereby adapted eurotaxis or taxis will not be obliged to benefit from the system of drafts, just as it has been agreed that the employees hired by the holders of the license do not have why have work exclusivity.
Finally, the percentage of taxis that may be in a situation of exceedance has increased.
