The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the vice president of Fundación Repsol, António Calçada de Sá, have signed this agreement that continues the project to recover the archaeological site of Molinete, which has been carried out over the past four years.

The mayor of the town wanted to put the project of the Barrio del Foro Romano as "a good example of public-private collaboration" in the recovery of historical heritage, in particular thanks to the participation of the Repsol Foundation.
The signing of this new agreement will allow, among other aspects, the enhancement and musealization of the colonial Forum, carrying out a work of monumental reconstruction of some of its structures, as well as its connection with the Shrine of Isis of the Insula II.
This will allow the realization of a circular route to visit the archaeological site in its entirety, from the new Roman Forum Museum to the current Forum Neighborhood.
At present, phases 3 and 4 of the initial project are being executed, corresponding to the conservation and restoration of the Colonial Forum area, as well as the architectural execution of the works of the Roman Forum Museum and the museographic adaptation of said building, structured on three floors.
Thanks to the contribution of the Repsol Foundation, the intervention that is being done in the site of the Roman Forum is contributing to the urban regeneration of this sector of the city, in addition to expanding knowledge about the ancient city, and collaborating in the cultural revitalization , tourist and economic city.
