The Pozo Estrecho Civic Center will host from February 9 to April 13 the XXV edition of the Pozo Estrecho Theater Competition, organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, the Theater Group of La Aurora in collaboration with the Association of Neighbors of San Fulgencio.
This morning, February 5, this event has been presented, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, with the presence of the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, along with the president of the event, César Segura, and the vice president, Francisco García.
"Pozo Estrecho is the cultural capital of Campo de Cartagena because we not only have theater but also music and great painters and photographers.
Throughout history we have been forging a town that has been fighting for its culture every time, "said Councilman for Culture, David Martínez.
The opening of the contest will be carried out by the Antares dance company with the representation of the musical show 'Apertura'.
The function will take place this Saturday, February 9, at 9:00 pm, at the Civic Center.
During the course of the contest will be six works prepared by people from Pozo Estrecho.
The Entreperéntesis Group will perform, on February 16, at 9:00 p.m., and on February 17, at 8:00 p.m., the work "The corpse of Mr. García".
In addition, the youth company Truño Teatro will take the stage for the first time with the play 'La Gallarda', on Saturday, April 13, at 8 pm, and on Sunday, April 14, at the same time.
'The Miracles of the convent of Santa María Juana' will be performed on Saturday, February 23, at 9:00 pm, and on February 24, at 8:00 pm, by the Aurora Theater Group.
This same group will perform two other works: 'La Molinera de Arcos', the first work performed 25 years ago, returns to the stage at the weekend, from 9 to 10 March, on Saturday, at 9 pm, and the Sunday, at 8:00 p.m.
'The brief love', on March 30, at 9:00 pm, and on March 31, at 8:00 pm;
and, 'Nosotras', the closing work, on Saturday, April 6, at 9:00 p.m., and on April 7, at 8:00 p.m.
In addition to these works performed by people from Pozo Estrecho, the public can attend four more works.
On Sunday, February 10, the theater takes to the street, specifically to the Plaza Mayor of the municipality, with the Cartagena company La Murga Teatro and his work 'Vuela Fantasía'.
Alquibla Teatro will perform on March 2, at 9:00 p.m., with their work "Los caciques", while the theater companies La Cómico and Jo!
Productions will represent on Saturdays, March 16 and March 23, at 9:00 pm, the theater plays: 'Bocata y Fuga', with a comic theme, and, 'Las nueve y cuarenta y tres', with a musical theme.
The mayor of Culture has indicated that "the Galileans and the Galileans are a public respectful of the theater and also very critical of the works that are represented."
This is due to the president of the contest, César Segura, a very well-educated public on this matter.
"Pozo Estrecho has a pool of 30 young people who have asked the institute to have a stage and spotlights to represent the plays.
