In addition, two of them are enabled for people with reduced mobility |
The Housing and Intermediation Assistance Service of the City of Cartagena has awarded the 12 homes that were available to families who had made their corresponding application through the Municipal Housing Registry.
Of the total number of properties offered, 8 belong to the Municipal Estate and the remaining 4 are leased out by a financial institution.
Among the Municipal Heritage houses made available to the public, 2 are adapted for the disabled.
The only procedure that remains pending to deliver the houses to the tenants is the approval in the Governing Board.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has been satisfied with this data.
"We are very happy to announce that soon, families in need of the municipality will be able to occupy these homes."
The first mayor wanted to highlight the effort made by the City Council to adapt two of the buildings for people with disabilities, "to continue fulfilling the commitment of this Government for accessibility."
Within the municipal heritage housing, the rehabilitation of the 2 for people with reduced mobility has involved an investment of 65,600 euros.
The habitability of the other 5 houses of the municipal housing park has also been improved, for an amount of 44,150 euros.
On the other hand, the Housing Board has also reported that the Housing and Intermediation Assistance Service received 579 requests for assistance during the past year.
Of these 579, up to 201 were housing applications due to the implementation of the Register of Claimants.
Other highly demanded issues are queries for unpaid rent and economic aid.
On this last question, 94 actions have been processed;
of which 58 have been per application and 36 ex officio.
In addition, SAVI has managed a total of 26 social rents with financial institutions in 2018 and 39 evictions have been suspended or paralyzed.
"Most of these launches were for unpaid rent and very few for mortgage eviction," said the mayor.
Ana Belén Castejón thanked the collaboration of all members of the Housing Board and, in particular, the Platform of Affected by Mortgages.
"I think that this is the goal we all set ourselves at the beginning of the legislature: the joint work between the administration and the platform.
They have helped us to improve, to put the batteries, to have to continue fulfilling. "
