Firemen of the Service of Fire Extinguishing, Salvage and Civil Protection of the City council of Cartagena, managed to control yesterday Sunday a fire registered near the Refinery of Escombreras, in the Mountain range of the Fausilla.
Around 18:05 hours the 112 regional emergency service gave the warning that, behind the refinery, there had been a fire in the bush with several lights and about 2,000 square meters, which threatened to spread due to the strong winds that lashed the area at that time.
The place was moved by a crew of Cartagena Firefighters consisting of a rural vehicle, four firefighters, a driver and a corporal, who quickly set to work on tasks of extinction.
They also went cash from the Local Police of Cartagena and Civil Guard.
Shortly after, the helicopter unit coming from the Sewer and eight members of the forest brigade joined.
After about two and a half hours of work, the fire is extinguished.
After a while and after checking that there was no reignición by the wind, all operatives returned to base.
