The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the Councilor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Mercedes García, and the Minister of Education, Adela Martínez Cachá, attended this Friday, February 1, the act of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Public School Antonio de Ulloa de Cartagena, located in the neighborhood of Ciudad Jardín.
"50 years we are going to celebrate today with all those who were, those who are and those who are to come.
It is also important public recognition and that the entire society of the Region of Murcia finds out that in Cartagena there is a historic center, which has 50 years of life, in which all the administrations have made progress in adapting the infrastructures for incorporate more teachers, "said the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón.
The Antonio Ulloa School, which has 300 students and 25 teachers, is closely linked to the Ministry of Defense, specifically the Armed Forces.
It is a center of public education and is the only one in Cartagena that is not municipal but its ownership is autonomous.
Ana Belén Castejón has pointed out that "in Cartagena public education is encouraged and there are very good schools of this modality".
The Minister of Education, Adela Martínez Cachá, stressed that this center is "a benchmark in this town and in the Region of Murcia.
In addition, it is a center that has made itself as a reference in the teaching of foreign languages, in carrying out innovation projects and that has quality facilities thanks to the regional government ".
The celebration of the 50th anniversary has been formed in the first place by the delivery of distinctions and the screening of a video about the school in the Assembly Hall.
Then, at the door of the center, the mayor of Cartagena, the Minister of Education and the director of the center, Rocío Padilla, have inaugurated a commemorative poster of the anniversary.
The final point has been put on by the performance of the Marine Infantry Band of the Tercio de Levante.
In addition, refreshments have been distributed among the attendees to provide for these 50 years.
Rocío Padilla has pointed out that "we must distribute all the resources of the Ministry of Education among all centers in the Region of Murcia", also concluded by thanking the City of Cartagena and the Ministry of Education for helping to improve infrastructure from the center.
