The Municipal Group of Citizens in Cartagena will hold tomorrow in the Consistorial Palace the day "Heroic and unique constructions of Spain: Cartagena in the Mediterranean" that will have the participation of the researcher of the work of Isaac Peral, Juan Ignacio Chacón, the architect, Juan Manuel Chacón, the doctor of the UPCT, María Jesús Peñalver, and the vice president of the COEC, Juan Carlos García.
The day, free access until full capacity, will begin at 9:30 am in the Ceremonies Room.
For this occasion, Ciudadanos has selected three unique buildings full of history such as the Peral Submarine, the Royal Arsenal together with the dock of the Port of Cartagena, and the barracks of Prisoners and Slaves of Cartagena, the former Mariner Training Barracks (CIM) where currently the Faculty of Business Sciences, the Naval Museum and some University and Cultural Extension Services are located.
The first paper will correspond to the researcher and specialist in naval infrastructures, Juan Ignacio Chacón who will present his work 'El submarino Peral.

Immediately afterwards, the architect José Manuel Chacón will offer a talk related to his work "The black house, the barracks of prisoners and slaves of Cartagena", edited by the UPCT, a magnificent book that arises from a meticulous research work that has supposed an extraordinary contribution to the national penitentiary bibliography.
From 12:30 hours, the doctor architect by the UPCT, María Jesús Peñalver, will intervene to explain part of his doctoral thesis, "The construction of the Royal Arsenal of Cartagena throughout the eighteenth century, paradigm of enlightened knowledge."
The person in charge of closing the day will be Juan Carlos García, vice president of COEC, president of the Hotel Association of Cartagena and Region and member of the Board of Directors of Cartagena Port of Cultures, who will offer a talk on the potential, still untapped, of Cartagena as a cultural tourist destination.
The presentation of the event and the speakers will be the responsibility of the spokesperson for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who will announce in advance some of the orange training plans at municipal and regional level for the tourist and cultural development of the municipality.
Manuel Padín argues that "Cartagena is still the great secret of Spain, we are light years away from our true potential, we can and must work with ambition to position ourselves as one of the Spanish destinations preferred by tourists with historical, cultural and patrimonial concerns."
