The Councilor for Youth of the City of Cartagena, David Martinez, received Wednesday at the Youth Space Luis Gil de Sola, who will embark in a week to Sweden to undertake an International Volunteering Project.
For a year, this young 25-year-old from Cartagena with a university degree will have the opportunity to meet new cultures and live experiences as part of the Sjöbo youth club and meeting place project of the organization Fritids och folkhälsoförvaltningen, in Boras, a city located in the province of Västergötland, in western Sweden with a population of 101,487 people.
Among his tasks will be to organize activities and sports, leisure and free time workshops for both children and young people with few economic resources, and also participate in cultural and European events with young people from other countries.
During their meeting, the mayor of Youth and Luis have been chatting about the adventure that awaits him and their expectations in the Scandinavian country, as well as wishing him luck with the hope that he will return to Cartagena with his backpack full of positive experiences.
VOLUNTEERS FOR THE WORLD
From the Espacio Movilidad del Espacio Joven, International Volunteering Projects are managed, a service that young people between 18 and 30 years old can benefit from.
The European Body of Solidarity is a European program designed for young people, where the possibility of living a formative experience with a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 1 year is offered.
