The Town Planning Department of the City of Cartagena has granted a building license for the restoration of the side façade of the church of Santa María de Gracia, which completes the integral rehabilitation of the exterior of the church.
The term of execution of the works is of 5 months and must begin before the summer.
The renovation of the main façade began a few months ago and in December, the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes, signed the agreement by which the City Council of Cartagena contributes to the financing of the restoration of the main and lateral facades of the church of Santa María de Gracia with 300,000 euros.
"Our collaboration is not only economic, since, as we have shown, we are giving the maximum possible speed to all the municipal administrative procedures that this work entails, such as the granting of licenses.
Our predisposition has been and remains absolute to support the rehabilitation of this temple, which has a fundamental role in our Holy Week, "said the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
