The Murcia Association for the Support of Battered Children (AMAIM) has received today the Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado Prize awarded annually by the IES Ben Arabí Institute of Cartagena to those people or institutions that have distinguished themselves for their work in favor of solidarity, tolerance and coexistence in the Region of Murcia.
The act, which has been enlivened by students of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, has had the assistance of the Councilor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Mercedes Garcia.
In 1996, Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado, a teacher of the Ben Arabí Institute who for years inculcated the values ​​of solidarity, tolerance and coexistence to his students, passed away, so the School Council of this Center decided to institute a prize in his memory.
AMAIM is a non-profit association in which people and entities involved in the defense of the rights of children and professionals from different areas (social work, medicine, education, judicial, psychology, nursing, etc.) collaborate. , on a voluntary basis, they are involved from the point of view of the attention of girls and boys.
The main purpose of the Murcian Association for the Support of Battered Children is to ensure the rights and needs of girls, boys and adolescents as they are recognized as subjects of rights and responsibilities.
