During the Economic Development and Employment Commission of the FEMP that was held this morning in Madrid, it was reported on the Youth Employment Shock Plan 2019-2021, which was published in the Official State Gazette, on the 8th of December.
At the meeting, which was chaired by the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, the most important objectives that this plan aims to fulfill, such as reducing the youth unemployment rate to 23.5%, located in the third quarter of 2018 by 33%, or decrease by 20% the current gender gap.
"There are many young people who suffer precarious work, in addition to unemployment, so it is important to implement this plan that includes measures that aim to reduce youth unemployment and increase each year by 15% the number of undefined hiring of young workers , among other aspects ", explained the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
Among the fifty measures articulated by this plan at the national level, we find personalized attention to achieve an adequate professional orientation.
To carry out this measure, a collaboration has been established with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces to facilitate the access of all young people to these spaces for personalized attention, using the facilities of local employment services.
Another of the measures included in this plan is the implementation of new models of training and employment, through the second chance schools for young people, driven by the European Commission.
Non-work placements will be carried out from occupational training that does not come from Certificates of Professionalism, focused on competencies for employment.
From the local level, the Public Employment Services will promote meetings, thus promoting a much more personalized attention to young people in unemployment situation.
