The IES Ben Arabí de Cartagena awards every year the "Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado" Prize to those people or institutions that have distinguished themselves for their work in favor of solidarity, tolerance and coexistence in the Region of Murcia.
The Councilor for Education, Mercedes García, will attend on Thursday, January 24, at 12:00 hours, the Ben Arabí Institute to the delivery of these awards.
In 1996, Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado, a professor at the Ben Arabí Institute who, for years, instilled these values ​​in his students, passed away, and the School Council decided to institute a prize in his memory.
With this distinction, it is intended to encourage in the members of society, the values ​​of coexistence that are part of the ideology of the teaching center and that had in Jacinto, a great example.
