Last weekend, La Manga was starring in sporting events becoming the venue for the I Beach Volleyball Winter Tournament next to the II Virgen del Mar Popular Race, events attended by the Councilors of Sports, Manuel Mora, as well as Education, Mercedes García.
VOLEY BEACH TOURNAMENT
It was held from 9 am to 5:30 pm on the beach next to the Hotel Entremares on Saturday, January 19, and Sunday, January 20.
A sporting event organized by the Beach Volleyball Club La Manga and the Sports Club La Manga in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
With more than 120 registered players from Murcia, Alicante, Almeria, Albacete and Madrid, the tournament was played in pairs, in which the registrations tripled compared to last year.
On the one hand, on Saturday, the matches of the men's, women's and adults 'and minors' categories took place, while on Sunday, those of the mixed category took place.
The winners of all the categories were:

To culminate the day, the awards ceremony was to end all games at 17:30.
CARRERA POPULAR VIRGEN DEL MAR
The Running Challenge 2018/19 returned to the competition this Sunday with an appointment that was released in the calendar of the popular racing circuit of the Region of Murcia.
The Mar Menor was once again the protagonist, in the framework of the II Popular Race "Virgen del Mar" with an approximate 7.19km of route and counting as the place of departure and finish the Hotel Entremares.
All this, under the organization of the Association of Women "Virgen del Mar" in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, San Javier and the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia.
The fastest in the masculine section was the athlete of the UCAM Cartagena, Víctor Alejandro Requena, 1st Sub23 with a time of 24:27, followed by the 1st Master 35 Francisco Pedrero, in 24:50.
3º in goal and 2º Sub23 finished Severo Domínguez, of Albacete Triathlon, in 24:57.
On the feminine side, the victory went to the athlete of the Mobel Automenor Running Team, Ana Isabel Cánovas, 1st senior at 28:10, followed by Sandra García-Pagán, from the CD Runtritón Cartagena, 1st Master 45 at 28:55, as well as from the 1st F35 Elena Alcantud, from the Mobel Automenor Running Team, who stopped the clock at 30:22.
