Stresses that the ZAL is a strategic project for the regional government, which continues to develop the Regional Interest Action
The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has invested 112,677 euros in improving the road of the regional highway RM-F39, which is the access road to the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) of Cartagena, which runs parallel to this logistics infrastructure and that communicates with the highway A-7.
This is the first action in the ZAL of Cartagena, in which "the regional government is working hard to boost the logistics area, a key node of the Mediterranean Corridor," said today Patricio Valverde counselor.
The action to improve the accesses to the ZAL is carried out in a stretch of about 1.7 kilometers and will be completed in February, advancing in three months the date initially planned.
The counselor announced that his Department is already working on the second phase of improvement of this road in a stretch of 2.3 kilometers, and will have a bidding budget of 250,000 euros.
Patricio Valverde stressed that in recent months there have been important advances to make this ZAL a reality.
The first of these was the agreement of the Consortium Depósito Franco de Cartagena for the acquisition of the land and the transfer of the Deposit Franco to Los Camachos, followed by the start of the Regional Interest Action by the Government of the Community and the closed agreement. with the Public Business Entity of Land (Sepes) for the purchase of land and enable the development of this logistics infrastructure.
Once the agreement with Sepes was closed, "we need this agency to send it to us approved to continue with the pertinent procedures".
Next, the agreement will be signed by the three institutions (Community, SEPES and City Council) and the acquisition of land for the development of the ZAL will be formalized.
The counselor visited the resurfacing works of the regional highway to which the signaling will follow, and stressed the importance of this improvement in the development of ZAL de Cartagena, which "is a strategic project for the regional government as it will provide a boost for the companies and employment of the Region and the Region ".
"The ZAL of Cartagena has already attracted the interest of more than 100 companies to develop its maximum logistic and port potential," recalled the counselor, who indicated that it is the gateway for goods to the railway infrastructure of the Mediterranean Corridor.
It will have a total area of ​​3,500,000 square meters and for the development of construction projects has already obtained 1.3 million euros of European funds of the mechanism 'Connect Europe'.
