CTSSP - PODEMOS has registered a request to the Government to convene four sessions of the Air Quality Board, and in each of them treated in a monographic way the problems suffered by neighbors living in the area near the land from El Hondón, Llano del Beal, Alumbres and La Aljorra.
Likewise, the City Council has been asked to respect the traditional format, that is, to have all the agents involved, from neighborhood representatives and environmental groups, to regional health authorities and representatives of companies.
The purple formation considers really worrying that the successive municipal governments disregard the environmental problem that seriously affects Cartagena, with negative impacts of all kinds, not only in the health and quality of life of the people, but also in economic terms, tourism and urban, among other obvious aspects.
Lack of information, denial of pollution, a totally short-term model, abandonment of functions by the Autonomous Community and very powerful economic interests are some of the keys that help to understand why Cartagena has not yet set to work for take care of its surroundings, its coasts, the air that breathes, the natural spaces and all the lands that are degraded by work and grace of predatory economic activities.
In another vein, since Podemos have assessed as an absolute success that the past 19 filled the hall of the Association of Neighbors of La Aljorra, in the talk given by Dr. Nicolás Olea and Pedro Belmonte (who attended from neighbors from the area to medical specialists and scientists from throughout the Region).
"The crowded room, says Pilar Marcos, confirms that there is a concern that can not be hidden, and at the same time, that information is lacking on the part of the administrations.
And this information is what we ask to be transferred in the Air Quality Board, which is the body that the City has created for that. "
Finally, the purple formation announced that it will take another battery of questions to the Plenary regarding air pollution: soils of El Hondón, results of medical studies carried out in populations such as El Llano, measurements of Bisphenol A, status of the atmospheric surveillance network and contracting of new measuring devices, regulation of cruise tourism, traffic management and tropospheric ozone are some of the questions for which the Government will be asked.
