This Friday, January 18, the mayor of the City of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, along with the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Mora, received in the Palace Hall the 2018 Spanish champion of Taekwondo, Paula Vergara Tomás.
Cartagena taekwondo player Paula Vergara Tomás, just 17 years old, has been fifth in the 2018 Taekwondo World Championship, a sport she has practiced since childhood.
In addition, she is the European Champion of Clubs and several times champion of Spain.
The 2018 Taekwondo World Championship was held from November 16 to 18 in the city of Taipei (Taiwan), where Korea, Thailand, Iran and China-Taipei were ahead of the national team.
Spain, in its category, is the only European country among the five best in the world.
