The book focuses on the inhabited environment, from design to politics, from architecture to urban planning;
all synthesized
in the house and the city, as a representation of the private and the public.
According to the author, urbanism with a gender perspective "seeks to speak, think, observe, analyze, plan, project and maintain cities from and for women, but not exclusively or exclusively." The gender perspective is not based on considering to women as neither a minority nor as a homogeneous group to attend to.The gender perspective puts women at the center to be an active agent of rights and, in this sense, a maker of cities. focus on those tasks traditionally assigned to women and that have not been taken into account either by policies or urban planning. "
