MC will present an initiative, during the next municipal plenary session, for the Department of Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena to allocate the necessary means to prevent the proliferation of the insect 'processionary' in the pines of San José Obrero.
The councilor of the Cartagena training, Francisco Calderón, has ensured that the municipal group echoes, in this way, the complaints received from the neighbors to the large increase in the number of these insects, as "the pine forest of the neighborhood it has been gradually abandoned, being previously taken by the borer and, currently, by the processionary, which has already managed to kill several specimens ".
Calderón recalled that "the pine trees between two and five meters with which the wooded area of San José Obrero has been replanted have endured many vicissitudes, but this plague of processionaries who suffer can end them if no solution is immediately established".
Similarly, the mayor of MC has shown that the City is competent in the pine forest of San Jose Obrero, so "it would be very sad to let these trees die after the efforts that were made to get a small forest in area".
The situation is very problematic since, as Francisco Calderón has added, one must also take into account "the risks for people and domestic animals that transit through the area, given the eruptive skin diseases and allergies they cause."
