On Sunday, January 13, 700 runners participated in the 'III Sierra Gorda Trail'.
The first test of this year 2019 in Cartagena, organized by The Vista Alegre Trail and Mudos Trail Clubs, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena.
Sports Councilman Manuel Mora attended this sporting event.
The 'III Sierra Gorda Trial' is composed of four tests.
The first one is a race of 16.5 kilometers and 470 meters of positive height difference.
This race began at 10:15 am from the Vista Alegre Public School and awarded the victory to Albacete runner Francisco Serrano García (official time: 01:04:58 and pace: 3.56 min / km).
The second test started at 9 o'clock and consists of a race of 8 kilometers and 155 meters of vertical drop.
In this test the winner was the Triathlon Cartagena Club rider, Manuel Funes Pérez (official time: 00:34:38 ​​and rhythm: 4.19 min / km).
At 9:45 am, a 8-kilometer hiking test was carried out that covered the Altamaria pass, the Orfeo ravine and behind the Santa Lucía Hospital.
The winner was Carlos Ruiz Rodríguez (official time: 01:18:16 and rhythm: 6.1 min / km).
In addition, tests were carried out for the youngest children, one for the children of 10 years and another for the children of 14 years.
As a culmination to the sports events, a meal (macaroni) was made and 800 pieces of Christmas cake were distributed.
