- Cs required this information last December, and when no answer is received, it will take the matter to the next Plenary
Cartagena, Monday, January 14.
Citizens ask the Government of Cartagena for explanations for all the works related to the paleontological site of Cueva Victoria of international importance, "despite the PSOE announcements, the project of actions to improve access security, one of the selected projects in the participatory budgets, has not been launched, and we want to know what has happened, "said the spokesman of Cs Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who added that" we do not know anything about the Master Plan that supposedly should be prepared by the end of year and for which 20,000 euros have been consigned ".
Cs has already sent an information request to the Government of Cartagena and has informed that by not receiving a response during this time, it will take the matter to the regular plenary session in January.
As reported by Cs last December 21, the Local Government Board approved in mid-October a detailed plan of actions, with a deadline of one and a half months, so that the entries are insured and adequate and allow to host groups relatively numerous visitors, on a regular basis.
The project was around 100,000 euros and to finance 90 percent of its execution, the Government announced that it would be submitted to grants sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture for research and intervention of Archaeological and Paleontological Heritage.
Manuel Padín argues that in the Governing Board, according to the minutes, there was only the commitment of the City Council to commit for 2019 the amount of 10,000 euros.
As for the Master Plan, "the last thing we know is that it would be officially presented at the end of the year, but to this day nobody has said anything," says Padín, adding that "we do not know if there has been any progress in the search for public private financing ".
During the last two years there have been activities related to Cueva Victoria, guided tours, workshops, a project of cultural dissemination through murals representative of the Pleistocene fauna in Llano del Beal, El Beal and El Estrecho de San Ginés.
