On Sunday, January 13, 700 runners will participate in the 'III Sierra Gorda Trail'.
This is the first test of this year 2019 in Cartagena, organized by The Vista Alegre Trail and Mudos Trail Clubs in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena.
The "III Sierra Gorda Trail" is composed of four tests.
The first one is a race of 16.5 kilometers and 470 meters of positive elevation that will begin at 10:15 am at the Vista Alegre Public School.
A little before, at 9 o'clock, there will be a race of 8 kilometers and 155 meters of altitude difference.
At 9:45 am there will be an 8 kilometer hiking trail that will cross the Altamaria pass, the Orfeo ravine and will go behind the Santa Lucía Hospital.
"This popular race, in addition to promoting sports and respect and the protection of the environment, has a social character and this year is going to make a donation on the inscriptions that will fall on the Food Bank of the Region of Murcia and the Spanish Association Against Cancer "has emphasized the Councilor for Sports, Manuel Mora.
In addition, tests will be conducted for the youngest, one for children 10 years and another for children 14 years.
"The filmmakers and the parents of the children will form a circle that will serve as an enclosure where the test is developed," explained Juan Esparza, technical director of the III Trail Vista Alegre-Sierra Gorda.
"The donations will consist of 1 euro per registration for the Spanish Association Against Cancer and 1 tetrabick of juice for the Food Bank" said Luis Miguel Ortiz, technical director of the sports event.
"Total support for this test and that it is a success and that we have a good day" has concluded the president of Juncal Vecinal de Alumbres, Miguel Garrido.
As a culmination to the sports events, a meal will be held and 800 pieces of Christmas cake will be distributed.
