This morning a new meeting of the Sectorial Board for the elaboration of the Regulation of Citizen Participation was held in the administrative building of San Miguel.
During the session, which was attended by the councilor of MC Cartagena, María José Soler, progress has been made in the preparation of the Regulation, in particular of the participatory bodies.
After the previous meeting, which took place on April 17 last year, the socialist mayor, Juan Pedro Torralba, responsible for Citizen Participation, said that the document was in the final phase of the review.
In the same way, he announced that work was being done on the composition of the districts and the Neighborhood Boards.
In this sense, Soler has lamented that "after many months of waiting, nothing has been advanced in this regard."
He also noted that "we find the surprise of a new report, prepared by the director of the Legal Department of the City Council, which was issued in November 2017."
This report, as pointed out by the mayor of Cartagena, is about the personality of the newly created Neighborhood Councils.
In this regard, the councilor of MC Cartagena has stressed that "our group will have to study it", while it has concluded that "we hope that finally the most important issue of the Regulation is tackled, as is the distribution of the municipality, giving greater participation and bringing the issue closer to the collective.
