Cartagena Sí Se Puede (Podemos) has echoed the publication of La Verdad, as well as the neighborhood clamor against the regrettable state that presents the railway network of the municipality and the Region, and has once again insisted on the need to enhance the commuter network (ending with old and obsolete trains), electrifying the railway network and betting decidedly by the hybrid train, all measures that aim to cover the transport demand of most of the population: students, workers and people common.
for the purple formation, without these actions it will be impossible to finish with the delays, breakdowns and daily stoppages suffered by the different services.
The purple formation has criticized that in the political agenda of the moment the AVE continues to be prioritized when this is a deficit train, that usually goes practically empty, that is extremely expensive, with high environmental costs, with ineffective connections and that also implies a transfer of resources of the middle and working classes to the privileged sectors of society: since the AVE is financed by ordinary people with their taxes but only a minority uses it.
These data are purely objective, and recently have just been corroborated by the European Court of Auditors, in an extensive report last June in which it warns of the infeasibility of high-speed trains, especially in Spain.
Finally, while claiming the modernization of the Red de Cercanías, the municipal group of Podemos has recalled the need to solve other transport problems, such as intermodality, the diversion of dangerous goods trains passing through towns as Alumbres, or the suppression of the steps at the level of the municipality, which many neighborhood complaints have generated.
