The Cabalgata de Reyes is the most expected by the little ones of Cartagena during Christmas.
This year, the Cabalgata will be composed of 14 floats (10 occupied by neighborhood associations) that will distribute along the way a total of 18 thousand stuffed animals, 3 thousand kilos of candies and 65 bags of jelly beans.
Councilman Public Services and Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, this morning held the last coordination meeting of the parade with different municipal services and especially Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection, in order to ensure the safety of the parade in its path through the different streets.
The procession will have this year again with the collaboration of the Shopping Center of the English Court, which has sponsored two floats and entrepreneurs of the Beaza Polygon Cabezo who have given away some of the stuffed animals.
The neighborhood associations of Santa Lucia, Lomas de Canteras, Mediterranean Urbanization, Station Sector, Puerto de Santa Bárbara de Arriba, Cuesta Blanca, Galifa, La Aparecida, San Antonio Abad and Virgen de la Caridad will each have a float thanks to the draw carried out by the Department of Celebrations on December 12, to facilitate the participation of neighborhoods and councils.
The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Alameda de San Antón with the 1990 Music Band and will end at 10:30 p.m. at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
During their journey, attendees can enjoy series floats and animated films such as The Incredibles, Coco, Madagascar, Pepa Pig, Snow White and the seven dwarfs, among others, as well as various charangas and animation groups.
The ride will tour the main streets and squares of Cartagena such as the Plaza de España, Paseo Alfonso XIII, Santa Florentina street, Carrer del Carmen, Calle Jabonerías, Calle Sagasta, Puerta de Murcia and Calle Mayor.
As other years, will be available to citizens chairs that will be located the streets Puertas de Murcia, Santa Florentina, Carmen and Jabonerías whose price, will be 3 euros each.
There will also be free city buses starting at three in the afternoon and their frequency will be improved as if it were a working day.
VISITS OF THE KINGDOMS
Before the Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, in the morning, there will be many activities.
At 9:15 am the Three Wise Men will visit the Children of the Children's Home.
At 10:00 a.m., they will meet with the elderly people of the Nursing Home.
In addition, at 10:45, they will bring toys and jellybeans to the youngest of the Hospital de Santa Lucia.
At 10:25 am, Their Majesties the Magi will embark on the Catamaran of the Port of Cultures of the San Pedro dock and will make a short trip until arriving at the Alfonso XII pier at 11:45.
From there, the Magi will march on foot to the Town Hall, where they will be received by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and will greet the attendees from the main balcony.
Next they will offer a reception in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
During this reception, the little ones can say hello, deliver their letter, tell them what they want as a gift or take a picture with Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar: an activity that year after year brings together thousands of children.
SECURITY DURING THE HORSE RIDING OF KINGS
More than 80 personnel, including Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection, will ensure the safety of attendees and participants.
To this we must add the ordinary device, not only Local Police and Fire, but also National Police and Civil Guard.
The Fire Brigade and the Local Police recommend that, in order to avoid traffic jams, it is advisable to go on foot to the point where you want to see the cavalcade or use the dissuasive car parks and public transport with enough time.
Other recommendations are if you go in a group is to agree a point of reference where to return in case of getting lost, young children should go hand in hand with the elderly, be attentive to the elderly and people with disabilities who need our help, not hinder the passage of the parade, do not approach the wheels of the floats and do not throw candy or objects to anyone.
In case of emergency, they recommend keeping calm, avoid shouting, running or pushing people and notify the emergency services present on the Cavalcade, or failing that to 112 and 092.
Once the event is over, it is important to leave the place in an orderly manner to avoid crowding.
