The Department of Youth has today organized a meeting with a group of young Cartagena who have returned to the city at this Christmas in the context of the program 'Return of talent to Cartagena', which has been launched this year and was proposed and funded through an amendment by Citizens.
In this first contact, held at the Youth Resource Center, young migrants have been able to share their work experiences abroad, as have some parents of children who are working abroad and who are eager to return to Cartagena.
The spokesman for Citizens, Manuel Padín, has attended the meeting and said that "it has been very exciting to hear the testimonies of the children and parents who have their children working outside when they want to return in decent conditions; we have put a bit more to facilitate that return. "

'Return of talent to Cartagena' is a program aimed at young people between 18 and 34 who have been born, lived or studied in Cartagena, as well as emigrants currently in another country, who want to return and develop a project of their own in their land.
Through a technological platform, which is being finalized at this time, and with the support and advice of specialized counselors, connection processes will be established between young migrants from Cartagena who want to return and the business fabric of the city that can benefit from the talent of those young people.
Cs destined this year to the program 30,000 euros "and of course we are going to watch over its necessary continuity, probably with another game for 2019", advances the orange spokesman.
According to Manuel Padín, "the reason that led us to bring this proposal to Cartagena is that in Cs we believe that the return of talent is positive for the economy because it will generate hiring opportunities, improve work teams in companies and promote the internationalization and the entrepreneurial vocation ".
"This talent, full of experience and new ideas, should contribute to the productivity and competitiveness of our companies," said Padín, who recalls that "there is also a social dimension that is important for us and that has to do with family reunification and recovery of the bond of these people with Cartagena ".
In the Region, few municipalities have undertaken the drafting of a program of these characteristics, "and we believe that it is exportable to other municipalities, so we made a few months ago a meeting with the Young Citizens platform to take note of the details of this plan and could suggest it in their respective town halls.
