Regarding the arrival of the high speed to the municipality of Cartagena and after the last call of the mayor to the groups of the Corporation, the municipal spokesman of MC Cartagena, José López, criticized the socialist government of Castejón "live under the dictatorship of the owner ".
López explained to the mayor that "what he has to do with the municipal groups, with businessmen and neighbors is to give him well-trained opinions of competent technicians and not judgments of value that is what is being issued up to now".
In this line, we should try to look for "the interest of Cartagena, linked to the development of neighborhoods and councils, to the care of nature and the environment and business development of all kinds."
"Lack of training and interest in that government team It is a lack of respect to play with the future of Cartagena to occupy an armchair in the City," denounced José López.
The mayor of Cartagena has explained the current context: "the reality is that the AVE is at a critical moment, we must have all the information but, above all, we must give a firm and common solution to face the 'long' Murcia and Madrid, the national parties must put their cards face up, not continue like trileros, the railway development of Cartagena and its Region is at stake ".
José López recalled, once again, that "the solution must guarantee the integration of high speed, but also the conventional railroad and the suburbs, and the goods towards the ZAL of Los Camachos and Escombreras".
Given the existing situation, in which "the AVE will not arrive soon," the MC spokesman said that it must ensure that "it arrives in conditions, developing the solution for travelers and goods, if a new Declaration of Environmental impact that is made, it will not affect the arrival (there is no road from Murcia to Cartagena and there will be no until 2022, so integration can be planned) ".
Likewise, he added, "the variant of Alumbres, the outskirts, the ZAL must be put into operation and all this must be compatible with the development of El Hondón, an absolutely strategic matter for the next years of the municipality."
"The solution will be technical and it is the technicians who must fulfill the main mandate, which is to improve the municipality and not perpetuate the walls," concluded the Cartagena leader.
A common proposal with the neighbors
It should be recalled that MC urged the municipal Plenary Assembly to demand from the regional and national governments, in June of this year in a monographic session on the AVE, that the arrival of high speed to Cartagena on the surface is not imposed.
This agreement provides that the final proposal for the arrival of the AVE "does not generate walls that divide the municipality in two, that does not strangle the growth of the city and its neighborhoods and councils, and that bet on intermodality."
Likewise, it must include "the possibility of a railway access to the future Logistics Activities Area of ​​the Los Camachos Industrial Area and the connection with the industrial zone of the Escombreras Valley".
MC agreed with the neighborhood groups, as Lopez said months ago, "an arrival of the AVE to Cartagena without blocking any part of the municipality."
