The municipal group of We urge the Government to implement, in a brave and responsible, the Energy Efficiency Plan approved unanimously in the Plenary: a motion of training purple that invited the City to deepen the line of efficiency, sustainability and renewable energies, and which is marked by the Climate Cities Network, the Social Agenda 21 or the Aalborg Charter, all of which have been signed by the Cartagena City Council.
The purple formation criticizes that the steps taken so far have been timid and disconnected, because it is not enough with a single study of the UPCT nor with the isolated review of some municipal buildings: what is needed is to implement a true plan of principle to end, as the one that was included in the motion approved by all the parties in Plenary.
CTSSP-PODEMOS recalls that the motion approved called 1) to make a detailed report on the energy performance of buildings, facilities and equipment of municipal ownership2E 2) With these results, develop a municipal energy efficiency plan, budgeted and scheduled.
3) That the City Council develop awareness campaigns on saving and efficient use of energy, covering aspects such as the problem of light pollution, air conditioning, interior lighting, use of electronic equipment and appliances, transportation, etc.
Pilar Marcos, spokesman for the municipal group, criticized the government not only fails to comply with the agreements of the Plenary, but openly opposes: "The serious thing is not only that they do not implement the Energy Efficiency Plan ... It is also they do the opposite of what needs to be done, and we see that in everyday things like the lights of the Palacio de los Deportes, which are lit every day, 24 hours a day.
The government says it's for security.
We know that it is pure electoralism, since there is no other reason that justifies so much waste with everyone's money. "
For these reasons, the municipal group of Podemos will ask at the next Plenary, among other things, why the approved Plan has not been implemented, what actions are planned in terms of renewable and self-consumption, and how the Government values that some City councils (such as Barcelona) are setting up their own electricity companies.
For the purple formation the energy transition, the efficiency and the sustainability should be a transverse axis of all the parties, govern who governs.
Of this type of things depends that Cartagena enters fully into the challenges of the 21st century.
"We are talking about viable and easy measures to tackle, economically profitable and environmentally beneficial, since they suppose savings of public money and energy: and both are scarce goods that should not be wasted and that we must take care of among all."
