After the visit to the excavations, from Podemos denounce the abandonment of the Regional Government with the cultural and historical heritage of Cartagena, not granting even one euro of the budgets for 2019 to the Roman Amphitheater.

It has been more than a century since we started digging in the vicinity of the Amphitheater of Cartagena, and according to the purple formation we still continue in the preliminaries, when this project would have to have been the flag and the badge of our municipality, together with the Roman theatre.

However, they denounce from Podemos, the reality is totally different.

Only the commitment of certain professionals like Mari Carmen Berrocal, and the support of the Municipal Government in this legislature, is making it possible to bring to light what was already known that there was under the walls of the Plaza de Toros de Cartagena, an impressive construction that is part of our history, and that exceeds many of those found and rehabilitated in our country.

For Podemos it is essential to reach a consensus among all the political groups, to maintain the project of excavation and restoration of the Amphitheater as a priority in the next legislature.

"Only in this way will we be able to see one of the jewels of our historical heritage completed, which would also complete a city project so necessary in the old town of Cartagena," said Pilar Marcos, Secretary General of Podemos Cartagena.

For all of this, from Podemos, they announce that in the next plenary session in January they will present an initiative so that, as with the Hondón or the arrival of Ave, all the parties reach a consensus to continue working on the reconstruction of the Roman Amphitheater of Cartagena , as a political priority in their government programs.

From Podemos they will work with their colleagues in the Congress of Deputies to claim the concession of 1.5% cultural requested from the Department of Heritage for 2019. In this way it would be possible to get more funds for the excavation and rehabilitation of the Amphitheater, since the Regional Government of the PP excludes Cartagena from the recovery of its history, which is also the history of the Region of Murcia.
