The Bankia financial institution has collaborated with the Social Services area of ​​the City of Cartagena, transferring four houses under social rent for families who, due to their economic situation, have difficulties in accessing market prices.
The delivery of keys took place this Friday, December 21, in the Hall of Councilors of the Palace Hall, where the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
the mayor of Social Services, Mercedes García;
the Head of the Bankia Zone in Cartagena, Aurelio Herrera;
and the Zone Director, Diego José Salinas.
The beneficiary families will be selected from the Registry of Housing Claimants, which will shortly be published by the Department of Social Services, according to the suitability criteria.
From the Housing and Intermediation Service (SAVI) follow-up and, where appropriate, social intervention will be carried out, with the aim of promoting the social promotion of these families in all areas of protection.
The first mayor has pointed out that these homes are delivered in perfect conditions of habitability and basic kitchen equipment and appliances and have been visited by municipal technicians.
They are distributed in different neighborhoods and with an approximate rental price between one hundred and twenty euros and two hundred euros.
The mayor highlighted this model of participatory work, in which "banks have been an active agent" and recalled that this agreement began in 2016 with the assignment of two homes for families in a situation of vulnerability, which continues from this Friday, December 21, with four more homes.
In addition, has indicated that the City hopes that this good relationship is maintained and that in the future there will be many more houses that are made available to families from Cartagena who are suffering from a situation of economic precariousness.
Bankia is one of the financial entities that participates in the Local Housing Board that the Housing Assistance and Intermediation Service of the Department of Social Services and that has among its objectives a platform for study and collaboration related to the Housing problem and that It includes different public and private organizations that are related to this problem.
