The Galileo IES of Pozo Estrecho received on Tuesday the visit of the University Club Rugby Cartagena through the ADE Program of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, in order to bring students of 3rd and 4th of ESO to the sport of rugby.
Under the direction and coordination of Chris (sports coach), Joserra (coach) and Alaska, Risi, Dani and Guapa players of the CURCartagena.
The activity began in the audiovisual classroom, with the screening of a didactic video about rugby, which has led to curiosities and questions from students to athletes about rules and regulations.
An important part of this meeting has been aimed at enhancing the values ​​that this sport carries as a flag, especially respect, both the figure of the referee and the opposite.
The second part was developed on the sports court with specific exercises to learn techniques of how to carry out tackles, passes, melee or rehearsals, passing in the final part to perform a match simulation between students with the presence of the players also / ace of the University Club.
This type of activities with sports clubs in our city and region are aimed at approaching sports and the values ​​that sports practice entails: companionship, solidarity, respect, and spirit of sacrifice, values ​​that our clubs and athletes reflect, a more special way, in the sport of rugby as it has been revealed in this activity.
In the final part of the session the players have taken pictures with all the participating students.
The CUR Cartagena has given a signed shirt for the Institute's museum, the Sports Council has delivered a methacrylate of the ADE Program to IES Galileo as a reminder of the participation in the activity.
The ADE program is organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena and the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and Sports of the Autonomous Community.
