The professor of the Department of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) Antonio Vigueras Rodríguez has been chosen by a large majority as the new director of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Roads, Channels and Ports and Mining Engineering (EICM).
Vigueras has marked with his team the objective of carrying out a renovation of the School to attract more students and encourage the participation of students, faculty and staff of Administration and Services.
For this purpose, a program of self-recruitment will be launched to visit institutes and educational centers and attract new students.
In terms of Internationalization, Vigueras plans to continue with teaching in English, mainly in elective and Master subjects, to explore new avenues such as double degrees.
They also propose to offer new training courses for students.
The students of the School will choose the complementary training courses.
Vigueras has shown himself excited about the new challenge he faces.
