The cycle of encounters with the writers and finalist writers of the Mandarache and Hache Awards starts with a visit to Cartagena by Gisela Pou on December 18 and 19 to hold meetings with the young readers enrolled in the jury's reading committees.
Gisela Pou is a candidate for Hache 2019 for her novel La joven de la medianoche (Edebé), starring a girl who travels to Berlin in search of a friend of her grandmother who during her youth was taster of the dishes of Adolf Hitler, fear of being poisoned
A novel about fear and about the need to overcome it.
During these days the writer will meet about a thousand readers between 12 and 14 years who are part of the Hache category jury in this edition and come mostly from secondary schools in the municipality as well as Intercultural Centers dependent on the Department of Social Services.
Gisela Pou will begin her program on Tuesday 18 with a press conference at 10am in the Board Room of the UPCT (former Marina Hospital), prior to the meeting with 600 high school students at 10:30 a.m. in the Auditorium.
In the afternoon at 17: 30h will visit the Intercultural Centers (Graduate Schools c / Gisbert) and will also hold a special meeting with the young members of the literary creation workshop Notepad Mandarache at 7pm at the Library of the National Museum of Underwater Archeology ARQVA.
The writer will continue on the 19th visiting the Isaac Peral institute at 9 o'clock and she will finish her program of activities meeting at 11 o'clock with 200 high school students in the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation meeting room (c / Mayor).
With the Gisela Pou meetings, the activities of the fourteenth edition of the Mandarache Project officially begin, which will continue with the visit to Cartagena of the rest of the finalist writers between the months of January and April, before the official votes.
