Before the presentation of the candidates, the president of the Senate, José Moreno, wanted to make a clarification to the comments made on social networks regarding the possible treatment in favor of the candidates Antonio and Laura for having traveled and represented Escipión and Emilia Paula. in the November Fair of Valladolid.

Moreno clarified the dates on which Antonio and Laura submitted their candidacy, they were proposed to go to those who exercised until the past Fiestas of characters, not being able to do so due to health problems and even Juanjo and Maloles, but they could not travel on those dates either. .

Until a couple of days before the trip, no other candidate had been presented, so given the urgency of the trip, Antronio and Laura had to learn urgently the role they had to play.

All this created a loss of prestige for José Moreno, Antonio and Laura in social networks, as they personally expressed in their intervention, but who had decided to go ahead with enthusiasm to represent the Roman characters.

Something unprecedented so far in the Fiestas de Carthagineses y Romanos, there were four couples to play the characters of Publio Cornelio Escipión and Emilia Paula, (Pedro and Laura brothers of Gens Numisius, Antonio and Laura spouses of Vigiles de Cartagonova, Adil and Ana friends of Navalis and Amazonas respectively and Isidoro and Cristina friends of Legion IV), this being the order that was followed by presentation according to the previous draw for intervention on the night of their candidacies.

Each candidate did in the ten minutes that they had their verbal and audiovisual exposition, and in the end it was the 23 Roman presidents present who, with their votes, decided who will represent them during the next two years.

The final result was 10 votes for Adil and Ana, 8 for Antonio and Laura, 4 for Pedro and Laura and 1 for Isidoro and Cristina.

Gerardo González, vice president of the Roman Senate was in charge of reading the oath of commitment of Adil Mata and Ana Gómez with the representation of the Roman characters before the presidents.

The president of the Federation of Troops and Legions José Antonio Meca also attended the election, accompanied by several of his directors, who did not want to miss an important moment for the Carthaginians and Romans Festivities.
