The region of Campo de Cartagena, protagonist of the children's drawing contest'Trinidad García' (13/12/2018)

The drawing contest and children's murals 'Trinidad García' has already launched its third edition, whose central theme is the natural region of Campo de Cartagena, 'Our Field'.

The edile of Education, Mercedes Garcia, along with the Vice Chancellor of Students, University Extension and Sports, Sergio Amat, and the president of the Association of Neighbors of La Magdalena, Ginesa Garcia, have offered, this Thursday, December 13, all the details of this children's contest.

"This initiative highlights the area west of the Cartagena field," said the mayor Mercedes Garcia, who also pointed out that it is important for the little ones to know firsthand the place where they live.

This year, as a novelty, the students of the La Union schools joined the contest, joining those of Fuente Álamo and Cartagena.

In total more than 30 centers of the three municipalities, which will agglutinate more than 1,400 drawings whose central axis will be the corners of the Campo de Cartagena.

The registration period opens this Thursday, December 13, and children can sign up until next March 29, 2019 through email or school centers.

The works can be presented from today until the next April 5, 2019, at which time the jury will meet to select the winning pieces.

Participants choose several prizes that range from laptops, tablets, drawing materials, painting and crafts, sound equipment to field trips, as well as trophies and diplomas.

The prizes will be distributed in several categories: collective, individual and special.

In addition, this year has included a participation prize for all students that will be raffled on the day of the awards ceremony, on April 28.

The mayor of Education has announced that the works presented in the second edition of the contest will be exhibited so that children and their families, but also the general public, can visit them.

The exhibition will remain exposed at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, from January 16 to 30.

The contest, which was born at the initiative of the neighborhood association of La Magdalena is possible thanks to the collaboration of the municipalities involved, the association of artists 'Pigments' and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
