The regional chief executive, Fernando López Miras, presided today the meeting of the Board of the Roman Theater Foundation of Cartagena, where he reiterated the "firm commitment" of the regional government both with the Roman Theater and its Museum and sample of it, as indicated the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola, is that "we want to promote the recovery of the porch after the scene of the Roman Theater, which would mean the complete recovery of this jewel of Cartagena."
The counselor stressed that the Roman Theater Museum "is still the most visited in the Region."
Specifically, so far this year the Roman Theater and its Museum has received a total of 219,418 visits, almost 4 percent more than the previous year.
Since its inauguration in July 2008, 1,753,395 people have visited it.
Regarding the origin, 47 percent are national visits, among which stand out, with 25 percent, visitors from Madrid, 16 percent of the Valencian Community, 13 percent of Andalusia and 10 percent of Catalonia.
The remaining 53 percent are foreigners.
Specifically, 44 percent of the United Kingdom, 9 percent of France, 9 percent of Germany and 7 percent of the United States.
On the other hand, the Minister said that "we are national and international pioneers in technological innovation," and explained that this year they have made "great bets in this regard that allow the visitor a sensory and interactive experience."
In this regard, he recalled the "commitment to accessibility, because thanks to this technological innovation we have developed a platform that allows people with visual disabilities to make an independent and independent visit."
