The residence of Astus "La Resi", which is located in La Vaguada, received on Wednesday, December 12, an institutional visit on the occasion of the work being carried out in its facilities by students-workers of the Mixed Employment-Training Program " Adle-Astus ".
The visit was attended by the councilor of the Economic Strategy area and president of the ADLE, Carmen Martín del Amor, who has been accompanied by the manager of the ADLE, Fulgencio Cerón and the president of Astus, Joaquín Barberá.
The Joint Program is co-financed by the Local Development and Employment Agency of the City of Cartagena, which is the promoter, and the Regional Employment and Training Service of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
The total subsidy amounts to 664,918.60 euros.
The president of the ADLE, Carmen Carmen del Amor, has indicated that this project began on March 27, 2018 in the Training Center of Quarries and is training for 12 months to 40 unemployed people aged between 25 and 54 years.
The ADLE and Astus are developing three different Certificates of Professionalism: "Promotion and Socio-educational Intervention with People with Disabilities", "Socio-health Care for Dependents in Social Institutions" and "Auxiliary Activities in Nurseries, Gardens and Garden Centers", which have as objective the labor insertion of the student-workers in the labor market.
The student-workers, surpassed the ecuador of the project, share their day doing their work in this Residence of ASTUS and in the Occupational Center of PROLAM-ASTUS.
The tasks performed by the trainees are limited to the content of each certificate of professionalism.
Therefore, they assist users in their personal hygiene, participate with them in scheduled outings, assist them in the tasks inherent to the workshops they carry out within the educational program implemented, etc.
Likewise, the students of Gardening have developed the garden of the senses in the center of "La Resi", in order that its users can stimulate their senses and move from being cared for by the environment of the garden to its caretakers.
Joaquín Barberá pointed out that the realization of this mixed program of employment and training is a "huge success", by which the students can be trained in a practical way, while highlighting the work carried out in the garden of the five senses, "where people with disabilities will hear music, perceive smells, colors and the sound of continuous water".
In addition, he pointed out that this work enhances the facilities of "La Resi", the residence that Astus has in La Vaguada, "of which we are very satisfied because there are no others alike in the Region".
Finally, he added that thanks to the collaboration of the ADLE it has been possible to reach a very high level of training.
This project ends on March 26, 2019 with the entry into the labor market of 40 highly qualified people in their professions and prepared for their next job placement.
