The gala of the II edition of the Music Awards of the Region of Murcia was held on Tuesday, December 11, at the El Batel Municipal Auditorium in Cartagena.
A ceremony in which awards were given to different categories.
Two of those awards were held in Cartagena with the Nunatak group and the flamenco guitarist José Antonio Arnouse.
At the gala also paid homage to Paco Martín, calling the prize for the best festival with his name.
The music was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the mayor of Culture, David Martínez.
The mayor in his speech stressed that music plays a very important role in Cartagena "we are a cozy municipality in which we feel true passion for music and we try to enjoy it almost 365 days a year".
Castejón also thanked Cartagena for hosting this event, "we were especially excited to host this Gala of Music Awards, for which I thank the cultural association 'There is a tiger behind you', who accepted our invitation" .
The mayor also mentioned the award-winning Cartagena musicians "in our municipality we live music in its different facets.
In fact, two of the nominees in this gala are Cartagena Nunatak and José Antonio Amoutse, whom I wish the best of luck;
and then we can listen to Ayoho. "
NUNATAK - BEST POP ALBUM PRIZE
'Nunatak and the Lights of Forest' was the first album that presented the Cartagena group in society throughout the country and especially placed them as one of the bands with more projection of the country.
'Nunatak, and the infinite pulse', is his second album and his confirmation, after winning the prize for the best pop album.
JOSÉ ANTONIO AMOUTSE - BEST FLAMENCO ALBUM PRIZE
José Antonio Amoutse received his award from the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez.
With this award for the best flamenco album the work of the Cartagena guitarist was recognized, with more than 20 years of career in which he has worked with Rozalén, Les Morenillas, Malagüero, La Banda del Pepo, and Manuel Luna, among others.
The prize is for the artist recognition of his first solo project, 'The Art of Encounter', where he demonstrates his great knowledge of flamenco music, as well as a great ability to achieve the fusion of other styles coming from the music Mediterranean
HOMAGE TO PACO MARTÃN
In addition, the gala of the Music Awards this year honored the figure of Paco Martín, calling the prize for the best festival with the name of the person responsible for cultural activities of the City of Cartagena and director of festivals such as La Mar de Músicas or Cartagena Jazz, who died this summer.
In the same event, the Legend Award was presented in recognition of a lifetime dedicated to music, to the singer Unionense, Encarnación Fernández.
The gala also featured the performance of several artists and music groups from the region including Malva, Ayoho, Alex Orellana, Fernando Rubio and Moy Gomar.
