Leer, Pensar, Imaginar presents the book'Y tambien se Vivía' by the author Jesús López García (12/12/2018)

Leer, Pensar, Imaginar presents this Thursday, December 13, the book 'Y se se Vivía' (Editorial Gollarín, 2018) by the hand of its author, Jesús López García.

The Molina Palace will be the scene of this literary event, which will be presented by the Official Chronicler of Cartagena, José Sánchez Conesa, and will start at 8:00 p.m.

In addition, the editor Francisco Marín will also attend the event and the Animeros de Caravaca will put a soundtrack on the presentation.

The book, which has illustrations by Pascual Adolfo López Salueña, collects underneath the defeated walls of farmhouses and villages, between the corners of the mountains and the solitary fields, those stories, events, customs and events that form the rural soul.

The author explains in a special way the mountain peaks and the heights of the headwaters of the Segura and its tributaries, and revives those who populated them, and built their simple lives face to face with work, happiness, pain, hardship or the joys.

It is a look, from these tumultuous times, excessive and contradictory, to the memory and dignity of those who left in an exodus without return, picking up their old knowledge, approaching their expressive wealth or speculating with their certainties and anxieties.

'And also Vivía' is a story about the last ones who lived in the countryside as peasants or as officiants of other activities that linked rural communities with each other.

It relates events, visions, landscapes and emotions that are still preserved in many memories, including that of the author, and that have left a moving mark.

It is precisely the vision of the ruins, the remains of life, or even the glimpses of daydreams that cause the emotional impact that beats in the intricacies of this book.

The story covers the central part of the last century, but the handling of literary times has allowed to create perspectives of affective, intellectual and lifestyle contrasts between those times and those of today.

THE ANIMALS OF CARAVACA

The Animeros of Caravaca will accompany the presentation musically.

According to JA Melgares Guerrero in his "Chronicles for the History of Caravaca", "... in the Northwest of the Region of Murcia, specifying more in Caravaca de la Cruz, the Brotherhood of Souls obtained the bulk of its funds from the performances from the Animeros gangs, who were instrumental on their shoulders and a bag full of good intentions, took advantage of the Christmas periods to travel from farm to farm, from village to village, where they were received with joy and liquors and Christmas sweets to provide good moments of fun musical with tonadillas, jotas, and seguidillas, fed by the animating art with the string instrument such as the guitar, the bandurria or the lute, and some other rudimentary percussion instrument. "
