Yesterday, the general secretary of MC Cartagena and municipal spokesman, José López, and the ediles Isabel García, María José Soler and Francisco Calderón, accompanied by the coordinator of Neighborhoods and Deputies, Enrique Pérez, held a meeting with neighbors, associations and collectives of Barrio Peral, San Félix and José María Lapuerta.
During the meeting, the president of the Neighborhood Association of Peral, Eduardo Martinez, said that this area has known its greatest progress thanks to the Mayor's Office of José López, who fulfilled all the commitments made with the neighbors.
Among them, he cited the adaptation of the Vía Verde boulevard, the improvement in accessibility and mobility in the surroundings of the Health Center, the lighting of the Calle Mayor or the installation of artificial turf in football fields 11 and 8 of José María Lapuerta.
Isabel García and María José Soler gave a brief tour of the work of MC in the municipal government, which allowed a change of direction in the municipality with the best economic results in the history of the City Council and a new stage based on efficient management and transparency.
Later, José López made a review of different actions carried out in Barrio Peral from the Government of MC in improvements to the public road in different aspects such as steel, asphalt or street lighting.
Among these projects, López explained how "the paving of Ulloa, Calatayud, Aliaga and Arcos de Jalón streets was carried out, all of which are very busy and with access to the Health Center and shopping center of Barrio Peral, in which the traffic and pedestrian traffic, facilitating better accessibility ".
He also added that "accessibility actions were also carried out in the street Almunia de San Felix, which gives access to the school, which means an important daily school traffic and mixed traffic, differentiated pedestrian and road with signage."
Regarding the municipal asphalt replacement plan, from the area of ​​Sustainable Development, directed by José López, an amount close to 75,000 euros was invested from Submarino Street to Club de Cabos and Cartagena de Indias Street.
Another investment that recalled the spokesman of MC referred to the adequacy of the weekly market.
Similarly, outlined that "another investment was the adequacy of infrastructure space for the Municipal Week Market for an amount of 30,000 euros, so that a space has been put to service not only Barrio Peral, but also neighborhoods This action is not complete, we are aware of the need to equip it with toilets in conditions, so we had in our portfolio to place one of the kiosks removed from the port, an action that could not be completed due to the incompetence of Ana Belén. Green Way
López explained how it has been a priority for MC Cartagena the renewal of the pavement of the Greenway, to turn it into a leisure and hiking area for surrounding neighborhoods, replacing the current firm with a concreting, in addition to other complementary works such as steel, curbs or games.
This project, as outlined by the mayor of Cartagena, has been in the air after the change in the Government with the mayor of the PSOE, forcing this training to demand that it be implemented through an amendment to the budgets of 2018.
Other projects
In the same way, other actions carried out by MC are, among others, the replacement of children's games in the C / Paz de Basilia and renovation of several points of light on the La Palma road belonging to the area of ​​San Felix, as well as the improvement of the road in streets such as Pajarita, Guadalete, Postigo, Mayor Galiano, Lepanto and Covadonga, with an investment of just over 30,000 euros within the project of 'Asphalt in Provincial Councils and Districts'.
Lopez said that "one of the bets of MC Cartagena that was not brought to light by the refusal of the mayor of the PSOE was the attempt to make the grounds of the Bowling Games become municipal." A performance much demanded by residents through the neighborhood association. "

Sports facilities
Regarding sports, MC executed the provision of artificial turf football fields 11 and 8 of the sports installation of José María Lapuerta, with an investment of around 400,000 euros, assuming an element of revitalization of the area.

Future actions
Among the challenges for the future of these neighborhoods, José López enumerated some as, "in terms of health, one of the actions most in demand is the expansion of the Barrio Peral Health Center, which, once the Murcian Health Service has given its approval, is at the expense of the availability of land by the municipal government. "
It will also be necessary to advance in the improvement of basic services, in terms of safety, street cleaning, leisure areas or parks and gardens;
the planning, ordering and monitoring of infrastructures that improve communication with the city center or the development of CC1, which allows the structuring of these neighborhoods, as well as railway integration in these neighborhoods (underground).
For their part, the neighbors demanded some necessary actions for the neighborhood, including the completion of the adaptation of the Vía Verde, improved lighting in the area, accessibility and mobility, as well as the establishment of a stable parking deterrent in the entrono of Mandarache to give service to the Hispania, Ben Arabí and the Conservatory of Music schools to obtain what is known as the safe school road.
