With the motto 'Toy: a toy, a smile', the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena has presented the campaign to collect toys 2018 so that no child is left without a gift this Christmas.
The initiative is launched from this Monday, December 3, as announced by the mayor of Social Services, Mercedes Garcia, who has been responsible for providing all the details of this solidarity event.
This campaign, which aims to ensure that no child under 12 years runs out of toys on the day of Kings, ends on January 4, at which time gifts will be distributed among the 19 collaborating Social Action entities that are They will reach the little ones.
The toys can be delivered to the Administrative Building of the City of Cartagena, in San Miguel Street, during the days in which the campaign takes place - from December 10 to 28, from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12 : 00 hours
There are two ways to donate the toys, through collaborating entities and private citizens that can go through San Miguel to deliver their toy.
Since the Department have emphasized that donated toys must be new and not sexist, following the line that marks the Department of Equality through its Christmas campaign.
In addition, the mayor stressed that toys for children who are in the age range between 9 and 12 years are usually the most needy.
The mayor also wanted to make a special mention to the 60 volunteers who help in the collection of toys and their subsequent classification, which will take place on January 2 and 3 to deliver them on day 4, according to the age and needs of the children. little ones.
It is expected that these gifts reach more than 1,300 children of the municipality, with a total of 3,197 toys, because as Garcia said, "last year we managed to reach this figure and meet the needs of all children who had requested, for what we are working so that on this occasion the number of donated toys is even greater ".
In addition, the districts and councils of Cartagena will have a special schedule of Christmas activities for all ages.
