Castejón: "These accounts represent an unprecedented mistreatment of the local government and the municipality of Cartagena"
The spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Joaquín López Pagán, said that the counselor and candidate for the Mayor of Cartagena by the PP, Noelia Arroyo, "is being an accomplice and executor arm" of regional budgets for 2019 that mistreat the cartageneras and Cartagena .
"That is Noelia Arroyo's loyalty to the city she wants to govern, she should be ashamed to be in a government capable of punishing citizens in this way, and citizens should take note and know who they play with."
López Pagán asked him "what part of his cartagenerismo is included in the budget of the regional government to which he belongs and punishes and thus discriminates against the second most important city in this Region".
In his opinion, the regional accounts for next year have a clear element of punishment for municipalism, with repeated investments, again and again, in every budget that is not executed.
"The regional government, allied with Citizens, is punishing harshly the municipalities, which have to make a very important effort, like the one that the mayor of Cartagena is doing, who fulfills its role and with the citizenship despite the difficulties" .
In summary, some regional budgets for 2019 of PP and Cs "that are those of resignation and do not solve the urgent needs nor the economic and social orientation that a budget should have".
For its part, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, criticized the lack of political will and the commitment of the Executive of Lopez Miras for the needs of the city.
"Cartagena only represents 8 percent of total spending in the regional budgets for 2019. The per capita investment is 4.71 euros, the lowest of the three largest cities in the Community. 11 euros for Murcia.This is the regional government's commitment to Cartagena, compared to almost 9 million euros we are doing from the Government Team in the City, the largest investment in the last decade.
Castejón denounced that the regional government has deceived the citizens of Cartagena because it has not executed most of the investments planned for 2018 and repeats most of the items for 2019, which he described as "a lack of respect for the municipality. "
Regarding the investments planned for 2019, which are important for the municipality and which have not been implemented in 2018 - worth 3 million euros - the La Aljorra school stood out, for which only 114,000 euros are allocated;
the Hespérides center, with 19,000 euros that have not been executed;
and also the Central Cinema.
The expansion of the Santa Florentina CEIP, with a budget of over 400,000 euros and executed only one game of 30,000 euros;
the House of the Child with 300,000 euros and without executing;
and the ZAL, with a budget of 200,000 - Citizens' amendment - for 2018 without execution and repeated in 2019 for an amount of 300,000 euros.
"The PSOE has unblocked and is working to make this infrastructure a reality," he said.
On the Law of Rosell it indicated that the departure is insufficient so that it works to the one hundred percent;
in Education, the same projects appear as in 2018 and there is no bet for the archaeological heritage or for roads or festivals such as La Mar de Músicas.
In short, "an unprecedented mistreatment of the local government and the municipality of Cartagena, our amendments will be aimed at correcting this lack of will and predisposition with Cartagena."
