The Plaza del Ayuntamiento was the scene, last Sunday, December 2, of the reading of a manifesto on the occasion of the Day of Disability, an activity that is part of the Programming that the Department of Social Services and Sports have organized, December 1 to 4, under the motto We are all capable of everything.
In the reading of the manifesto several entities of people with disabilities participated, as well as the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;
that was accompanied by the mayor of Deportes, Manuel Mora;
and the councilor of the municipal corporation, Antonio Calderón.
Previously, a commemorative march took place at 10 am under the slogan Cartagena accessible to Todos, which left the Plaza de España and ended at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where the performance of the musical group Route 33 took place.
The councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, participated in the march;
and the mayor of Deportes, Manuel Mora.
Throughout the day on Sunday, the different entities of People with Disabilities participants had installed information booths and also offered various workshops and activities.
In the Plaza del Ayuntamiento also offered a space for the little ones through the installation of inflatables.
Likewise, it has counted on the collaboration of the sports schools of the Jimbee CT Futbol Sala, Athletics Club Elcano, Cartagena Basket Club, Cartagena Table Tennis, City of Cartagena Football Futbol and its Sports School of Fighters Anonymous.
The City Council of Cartagena works for the accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities, adopting the appropriate measures so that there is full access to daily activities and eliminating all obstacles to their integration.
For the commemoration of this Day, the values ​​of inclusion, participation, awareness, collaboration and development, among others, have been taken into account, as well as the promotion of sport as an essential tool for integration.
The activities began on Saturday, December 1, with the II Tournament of anonymous fighters Ciudad de Cartagena in the Central Pavilion, where the attendees enjoyed an exhibition match adapted football;
as well as ludic activities such as juggling, music and games;
and the Christmas campaign to collect food.
Throughout this Monday, December 3, and Tuesday, December 4, other activities will be developed to claim the rights of people with disabilities:
MONDAY December 3
10:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Sports meeting 'We are all capable'.
All the participants will be able to practice several sports modalities both on the main track and on the auxiliary track.
Place: Palace of Sports of Cartagena.
An act to which the mayor of Social Services, Mercedes García, will attend.
Main track: the participants practice futsal.
Directed and coordinated by players and team technicians JIMBEE CT Futsal
Auxiliary track: participants practice Athletics / Basketball / Table tennis.
Directed and coordinated by technicians and athletes from Elcano Athletics Club, Cartagena Basket Club and Cartagena Table Tennis.
