The International Film Festival of Cartagena closes this Saturday, December 1, its 47th edition, in Room A of the Municipal Auditorium of El Batel.
The closing ceremony will take place at 8:30 p.m., and the prizes will be awarded to the different sections of the festival, as well as the FICC prize, to the actor Ginés García Millán.
In the Official Short Film Section, the Carabela de Plata awards will be announced for the Best Short Film, worth 3,000 euros, and the Peral Submarine for the Best Direction, Best Performance, Best Screenplay and Best Photography.
In the section MURcine, dedicated to the works of the directors of the Region of Murcia, the Carabela de Plata awards will be unveiled for the Best Regional Short Film, with 1,500 euros, and the Submarino Peral for the Second Best Regional Short Film, worth 500 euros.
The actor Ginés García Millán, one of the most outstanding performers of our country, will receive the FICC Award in recognition of his long and prolific career in theater, film and television.
The closing ceremony is expected to be attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón and the councilor for Culture, David Martínez.
The Young Jury, formed by students from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the University of Murcia, the ISEN University Center and the UNED, will choose their favorite film from the Feature Film Section.
In addition, the members of the short film 'Paranoid Activity' of the institute IES El Bohío will receive the prize of 500 euros in audiovisual material for their center after having won the Best Short Film award of the Young Affected section.
After the awards ceremony, the group the Incredibles Ful that will perform live 'Let me know', the song that has been the soundtrack of the FICC47.
Next, the film 'Kursk', directed by the Danish Thomas Vinterberg and starring Colin Firth, Léa Seydoux and Max von Sydow, will be responsible for putting the brooch to the festival.
The film tells the tragedy of the Russian nuclear submarine 2000 K.141 Kursk, which occurred in August 2000, and the government negligence that followed.
While the sailors fight for
survive, their families try desperately to avoid political obstacles knowing that they have very little chance of saving them.
