At the request of Citizens, the Plenary has approved, through an institutional declaration, that the City Council conduct a specific information campaign in English, French and a third language, in addition to Spanish, until January 2019 to be informed of their rights of active and passive suffrage to all European citizens residing in Cartagena for the municipal and European elections of 2019. In addition, it will expressly inform all European citizens who access the Citizen Service Office (OAC) for any management, that they have its disposition always and in the same act, the form CERE.DFA-1 relative to its rights of active and passive suffrage.
It will also create a link in the Electronic Headquarters of the City Council to integrate this information in the municipal website, area of ​​registration, clearly and visibly, and in the different languages ​​expressed in the first point.
Finally, the City Council will implement a link with the information campaign and an access point to the municipal electronic headquarters in the entrance page of the City Council to receive all the necessary information, in order to comply with the guidelines issued by the Office. Central Electoral Census in relation to the vote of European citizens.
As indicated by the municipal spokesman of Cs, in order to exercise the right to vote in municipal and European elections, European citizens living in Cartagena who wish to do so must express their will to do so by filling in the specific form in the City Council (CERE.DFA- 1) that will allow you to be registered in the electoral census;
a "simple procedure, but which is not always well known by foreign citizens residing in our country".
