The Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes Garcia, visited on Wednesday, November 28, the Senior Citizens Club of Quarries, where the elders of this club carried out an activity together with students of Basic Vocational Training of ISEN.
The Intergenerational Activity has consisted in the joint elaboration of a nativity scene with coffee capsules, which will be exposed during this Christmas at the Corte Inglés de El Tiro.
The Department of Social Services, through its Unit for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities, and within the Intertegenerational Project: 'The Elderly also Count', so that experiences and experiences are shared between the generations of children, young people and those of the greater.
In the next month of December several intergenerational activities are planned, such as: visit of the biggest chestnut trees to the Anibal School on the occasion of the fall festival, tell tales of the elderly club of San Ginés to the little ones of the CEIP Mastia in the children's library Doña Centenito and afternoon of grandchildren and grandparents in the Aljorra.
With these activities, the Department of Social Services, aims to promote intergenerational relations to enrich ties and mutual knowledge of different generations, where the elderly evoked tender moments of their childhood, and young people enjoyed listening to wonderful stories from their elders.
The mayor has been visiting all the facilities, as well as the terrace where the gerontological fitness equipment is located.
