The winners of the last edition of the contest 'Between Strings and Metals' performed, on Wednesday, November 27, in a concert that took place in the Auditorium of the Conservatory 'Maestro Gómez Villa' of Cieza, completing its capacity.

This Wednesday, November 28, Cartagena hosts the last of the Promotional Concerts.

The concert began with the interpretation of the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, directed by Andrés Pérez Bernabé, of the 'Serenade for Strings in Mi m op.20' by Edward Elgar, which gave way to the interpretations of the young soloists, winners of Between Strings and Metals: Miguel Llorente Gil (marimba) performed Concierto para marimba and Orquesta de Cuerda, by Mateo Soto;

Alberto Arques Iváńez (violoncello) with Concerto No. 1, by C. Saint-SaĂ«ns, was followed by Juan Francisco Martínez Cárdenas (guitar), also playing the tiorba his teacher Ignacio Portillo, the Concierto en Do M, RV 82, by A. Vivaldi;

and finalized María Dolores Cayuela Baeza (flamenco singer), accompanied by Daniel Madrid, who played "No me mueve mi Dios" and "Vivo sin vivir en mi", by Francisco Tornero, with arrangements by Ginés Martínez Vera.

Among the audience was the Councilor for Education of the City of Cieza, Manuela Fernández, and the director of the Cieza Conservatory, Samuel Oliver.

The contest Between Strings and Metals for young performers of the Region of Murcia aims, not only to encourage young people through participation in these Promotional Concerts, but also to contribute to increase their training with different initiatives.

These promotional concerts offer the winners of the contest, in each of their calls, to participate as soloists with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, giving the opportunity to young musicians to enhance their musical training, with live performances with an orchestra professional, while contributing to offer music outside the academic environment.

LAST PROMOTIONAL CONCERT

The last of the Promotional Concert is celebrated this Wednesday, November 28, at the Auditorium of the Music Conservatory of Cartagena, at 7:15 p.m.

This recital will end the cycle of Promotional Concerts framed in the XXII Edition of the contest Between Strings and Metals, organized by the Department of Youth and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena.

On this occasion the winning soloists will be accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, under the baton of maestro and director Andrés Pérez Bernabé.

The young people who will perform are: María Dolores Cayuela Baeza (flamenco singer), Ángela Abraham Valero (flute), Alberto Arques Iváńez (cello), Celia Sánchez González (piano) and José Manuel Parrón García (trombone).
