The Local Government Board approved this morning the bases for the tender of the reform and exploitation of the underground parking of the Santa Florentina municipal market, with the aim of favoring its accessibility for customers and users.
As explained by the Councilor for Public Service, Citizen Participation and Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, with this initiative the Government adds a series of actions that has been carried out during this term to improve the conditions of this market of supplies among which it is the improvement of the posts, the lighting and the security of the facilities.
The new parking tender will give the future concessionaire a longer period to be able to amortize the renovation works that will be necessary, in particular 15 years.
The starting fee for exploitation will be 15,000 euros per year and three types of hourly rates will be established throughout the day, the modification of which should be agreed with the City Council.
These rates should be focused on facilitating the use of parking by customers of the market.
THE CHRISTMAS MARKET RETURNS TO LA ALAMEDA
The Local Government Board has also approved today the modification of the Christmas Craft and Costume Market, which will return to its usual location of other years in the Alameda de San Antón, at the request of the artisans themselves.
As you remember last year this market, also at the request of artisans, was located in the Plaza de San Francisco.
SUBSIDIES
The Board has had a wide section of subsidies.
This has been granted one of 20,000 euros to the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users of Cartagena for the realization of guidance activities, education and consumer information
ANIMUR, the Federation of Animal Protective Associations has been a beneficiary of a grant of 10,000 euros covering 2018 and 2019, for the dissemination and education of responsible ownership of pets and animal welfare.
A subsidy of 10,000 euros has also been approved for schools supported by public funds for early childhood education and primary education aimed at carrying out educational projects and another 9,000 euros for the same purpose for secondary schools, integrated vocational training centers, school Languages, music conservatory and district center for adults.
Another grant of 7,000 euros has been approved for the Federation of Associations of Parents of Students of Cartagena (FAPA) and one of 3,000 euros for the intercultural education program, Open School to Other Cultures.
The theater group Aurora de Pozo Estrecho has been a beneficiary in addition to another help of 2,700 euros;
as well as Federation of Music Bands of the Region of Murcia, amounting to 6,000 euros.
Finally, one of 1,500 euros has been awarded for the Cultural and Sports Center of La Palma for the organization of the floral games of the Campo de Cartagena.
Other matters dealt with by the Governing Board have been the approval of an agreement with the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for the assignment of extracurricular use of the Santa Lucía Institute football field.
Finally, in the human resources section, the specific bases that will govern the selection of the national habilitation posts corresponding to the Secretary General of the Plenary, Municipal Comptroller and Director of the Government Office through free appointment, as well as those corresponding to the temporary hiring of a social worker and a diversity technician for the Department of Equality.
